Stop smoking hypnosis – what happens in the sessions?
Treatment includes two sessions.
In the first, which lasts 1.5 hours, I’ll take information from you about you and your smoking habit. Then I’ll explain and clarify the hypnosis experience and answer any questions you might have.
I’ll then take you through a short hypnotic exercise. This will give you a chance to experience the hypnotic state so that you know what to expect in the second session.
The first session will also provide you with a more positive mind frame about stopping smoking; building positive expectation, motivation, confidence and self-belief while dissolving any resistances.
Even though the first stop smoking hypnosis session is mainly about preparation rather than quitting the smoking habit, most clients already report reducing the number of cigarettes smoked per day. They also report feeling much more determined, optimistic and confident in their ability to quit smoking and remain a non-smoker.
The majority find themselves looking forward to the second hypnotherapy session as well as to stop smoking. Therefore it’s already a big step forward. This is because previously they may have felt somewhat reluctant or had some resistances to finally be taking these steps and actually becoming non-smokers.
As part of this exercise I’ll also teach you the basics of self-hypnosis, which you can then use on your own.
You’ll be able to apply self-hypnosis to quitting smoking or any other area of your life. Although you’re not in any way obligated to use it, you might very well want to.
